CSSD Unit

Central sterile services department (CSSD) is an integrated place in hospitals and other health care facilities that performs sterilization on medical devices, equipment and consumables; for subsequent use by health workers in the operating theatre of the hospital.

CSSD of Mardan medical complex hospital and its services

Established in 2018, the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) delivers sterile supplies of surgical equipment, linen, dressing material and other such items which can be reused in various departments of the hospital like Operation Theatres, Labor Rooms, Minor OTs, HDUs, ICUs, Emergency Units, Wards (IPDs) and Out Patient Departments (OPDs).

CSSD of Mardan medical complex consists of the following areas:

1. Decontamination area (Dirty Zone)
2. Packing Area (Clean zone)
3. Sterile storage area (sterile zone)
