Bacha Khan Medical College



Named after the great freedom fighter of the soil, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, commonly known as Bacha Khan, the Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC) in Mardan was inaugurated on January 1/2010 in the posh area of Sheikh Maltoon Town Mardan.

The campus of BKMC, which was initially based in a restructured portion of Mardan Medical Complex, which itself spreads over 500 kanals of land and is the teaching hospital for BKMC, is recently shifted to the newly constructed state-of-the-art purpose building of the educational institution which is in the final staged of completion with the cost of approximately Rs.1.7 Billion. It has all the necessary infrastructure up to the final year MBBS and BDS education. The Academic Block houses fully equipped, air-conditioned lecture theatres, Library, SLRC, faculty and departmental offices.

A new block containing a Student Affair Section, Guest Waiting Area, separate Cafeterias for Male and Female, a new Lecture Theatre, offices for faculty and 250 capacity Auditorium, named after the founder of BKMC (Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) for his contributions to the college as “Haider Hall” have also been constructed and are fully functional.


BACHA KHAN MEDICAL COLLEGE is committed to train the students to become knowledgeable, skillful and dedicated to meet the needs of the society at large, with special emphasis on research, professionalism and health advocacy.



At BKMC from the very beginning the vision of Principal has been to stress on the quality of education. Proving this wisdom academic achievements have been impressive since the start of the college. The 1st year MBBS result was 82 % and the college stood first among all the Public and Private Sector Medical Colleges in the Province in its first test.
