It gives me great pleasure to write these lines regarding the Annual Symposium at Medical Teaching Institute, Mardan. This is the 5th such symposium and encompasses all specialties and disciplines in Medicine and Surgery. This symposium has put MTI Mardan on the map. It is now regarded as a premier model of sharing knowledge, enthusiastically supported and attended. The purpose of such symposia is to make the medical fraternity aware of recent advances and best practices in all fields of medicine and surgery. Most of all, it motivates young doctors and students to pursue a carrier that they prefer and to take up research, thereby enriching medical knowledge.
This symposium, like the four before, is preceded and followed by pre and post-symposium workshops and meetings including real-time (Live) demonstration of surgical procedures. I hasten to add that clinical meetings are held throughout the year at MTI Mardan and this symposium like the ones before it, is the culmination of all the efforts towards gathering and sharing knowledge. It is imperative to mention that this symposium and other similar symposia at MTI Mardan continue to be part of the bodywork of the institution
I am happy to report that the Board of Governors has made the Annual Symposium compulsory and it has been written in the bylaws of MTI Mardan that this symposium will be held every year without fail. It is not person-specific or any BoG-specific but has to be observed by law.
It will be remiss of me if I do not mention the enormous efforts, throughout the last 04 years and this year by those entrusted with the task of organizing this symposium. Specifically, I would like to mention Dr. Muhammad Israr Cardiologist, and his committee members for the hard work in holding the last three symposia successfully. Prof. Dr. Imad Hameed is the present Chairman of the Symposium Organizing Committee and his efforts and hard work have to be commended. Numerous young doctors and medical students are also worth mentioning, for having taken an active part in this worthwhile project.
We have made it a rule that the Annual Symposium at MTI Mardan will be held in the 1st week of March each year. March is a pleasant time of the year in Mardan and sticking to a particular date that is well known to medical students and professionals is important so that speakers and researchers can pencil in these dates in their annual calendar. It is my personal request to all concerned that these dates must be adhered to very strictly each year.
It gives me further pleasure to welcome the speakers and thousands of delegates and students who are attending this particular symposium. I would like to thank all the Pharmaceutical Companies who have participated in the holding of this symposium. I hope and pray that the young doctors and especially medical students would go back enriched with knowledge and motivated to undertake research on their own.

It is indeed my privilege to welcome all delegates to the 5th Annual Symposium of MTI Mardan which is being held at the historic city of Mardan. The Organizing Committee feel highly obliged to all the distinguished delegates from within the country and abroad who will be travelling long distances to make this event a great success by their gracious presence.
This symposium will provide a forum for discussion on the latest advances and innovation in the field of Medicine. It will be a unique opportunity to learn, share and exchange latest information about new developments around the globe.
The scientific program has been carefully designed to cater for the needs of physicians and surgeons of this area. It will include state-of-the-art lectures, live surgeries & Pre-Symposium Workshops.
The social aspects are equally important and we have ensured that opportunities are created for the delegates of the symposium to renew old friendships and make new ones during the meeting.
The region has a very rich cultural and heritage History. The district contains the famous archaeological sites of Takht Bahi, Jamal Ghari and Shahbaz Ghari. I hope all the delegates will have a comfortable and memorable stay and enjoy the traditional hospitality of Mardan.

It is heartening that Medical Teaching Institute Mardan is holding its 5th Annual Multi Specialty Symposium on (12 - 14) November-2021. The symposium is expected to be attended by over 3,500 delegates from within the country and abroad.
Health care field has witnessed tremendous improvements and innovations in recent years. We need to be part of this change. This was a gigantic task and the organizers need tremendous appreciation for their vision and commitment.
I hope this symposium will help to improve the knowledge and skills of all those interested to top-up their existing expertise to better serve the community.
My advice to the healthcare providers would be to make healthcare a shining example of honesty, dedication, hard work and commitment.
I wish the organizers and participants the best of luck in making their dreams a reality.
